Safety Manager
Bachelors Degree required. Certified Safety Professional and/or the Certified Utility Safety Administrator certification required.  Fifteen years experience in safety desired. Ten years of experience as a supervisor in safety or general supervision in electric utility construction, operations, and maintenance is preferred. Must have an extensive knowledge of utility industry, federal, state and local codes including OSHA, National Electric Code and State Fire Safety Code. Previous experience in utility safety practices with State and National Safety Associations desired. Knowledge of accident investigation process desired. Both office and field work required. Must be occasionally available after hours for power interruptions, emergencies, and safety related commitments.

HS diploma required.  An Associates or Bachelors degree in business or related field is desired.  A minimum of two years experience in customer service, billing, collections and/or phone sales desired. This position will answer questions and provide information about billing, collections, rates, energy assistance, new accounts, transfer of accounts, and products and services offered by the Cooperative. Must be available outside of normal business hours to respond to outage phone calls. Ability to work effectively in a team environment is important. Good typing and computer skills are necessary.

The Swan’s Island Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking to fill its Line Superintendent position (M/F). Swan’s Island Electric Cooperative is a member-owned utility with 350 year-round and 247 seasonal customers located 6 miles off the Maine Coast near Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Swan’s Island is a 7,000-acre island with its own K-8 school and is served daily and year-round by the Maine Department of Transportation Car Ferry Service. Requirements include a High School diploma/GED, and a minimum of four years line experience in overhead and underground electric distribution, including all phases of line construction, maintenance, & troubleshooting. A valid Commercial Drivers License, Class B, is required. Qualifications in transmission line work is preferred. An interest or experience in alternative or renewable energy (wind and solar) is a plus. Full-time residency on Swan’s Island is required of the successful applicant. Compensation: $45,760 base salary, plus bonus on-call and emergency pay, telephone subsidy, and medical benefits for employee and family. Additionally, a relocation allowance is available to assist in relocating from the mainland. Electrical Engineer

The Hudson Light and Power Department is conducting a search for a candidate to fill the position of Electric Engineer who will assist the Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Department.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering. Experience in Distribution is required. Knowledge of Transmission, Generation, and Power Resource Management a plus. The Hudson Light and Power Department operates an electric system with two 115 kV interconnections and a 20 MW generating plant, a 70 MW load, and serves over 13,000 customers. Senior Electrical Engineer
The Human Resource Department of the PMLP is looking to fill the position of Senior Electrical Engineer.  The ideal candidate should have engineering knowledge and experience involving the design, operation, and maintenance of high voltage substations, electric distribution, and transmission systems. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will be responsible for writing job orders and coordinating projects involving new residential and commercial/industrial developments, as well as maintenance projects on the aforementioned systems.  Duties include preparing equipment specifications, approving drawings, placing equipment orders, and coordinating all phases of construction work.  This position is also responsible for testing high voltage cables, cable fault finding, and relay testing.  The engineer will serve on-call for 24 hours a day for serious malfunctions of the distribution, transmission, and substation systems.  Substation technical experience, as well as experience in managing large scale substation projects is a plus.  Knowledge and experience of power supply resource planning and interaction with the ISO is also highly regarded.  A minimum of  Five (5) years of directly related experience.  B.S.E.E. Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative, Inc., a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, is conducting a search for a well-qualified individual for the position of Chief Financial Officer due to the promotion of the current CFO.  This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer and offers a great opportunity for professional growth for a highly motivated individual.  The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.The position is responsible for the overall finances of the Cooperative.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: financial reporting; financial forecasting & planning; annual budgeting; loan applications; working with RUS and external auditors.The position is in charge of accounting, billing, credit/collections, human resources, and office administrative personnel.  Directly reporting to the position is the Finance Manager and Manager of Credit and Collections. 
Experience should include: accounting policies & procedures; budgeting; and financial forecasting.  Prior experience at an electric cooperative would be preferred.  For such applicants, RUS loan fund accounting procedures and RUS work order system experience is desirable.  The successful applicant must be self-motivated, dependable, have a high degree of integrity, and possess strong leadership capabilities.  
The Cooperative is an RUS, CFC, and CoBank borrower; a member of NISC; and utilizes the Hunt Turtle system.  In a recent customer survey, the Cooperative received a 93% overall customer satisfaction rating and a score of 87 for the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), which was 16 points higher than the energy utilities industry average.
