Safety & Training Programs

NEPPA offers a wide variety of employee training and professional development programs for its members, ranging from technical job skills to executive education courses. Annual programs are offered in job safety, meter maintenance, lineworker development, substations, distribution systems, customer service, and public utility management. Also customized training programs are developed and offered at the request of member systems.

NEPPA Policy on class visitors or observers

NEPPA strives to provide the highest level of training and education. Knowledge of the surroundings and participants is important to the educational experience. NEPPA encourages the participation or observation of utility management, general foremen or elected leaders at courses. This better facilitates the communications process between the field and decision makers on safety issues.

If a utility is hosting a training and they wish to have a non-affiliated person attend or participate they must seek approval from the NEPPA offices prior to the training.
