10th Annual NEPPA Lineworkers Rodeo

September 15-16, 2016  •  NEPPA Training Center, Littleton, MA

The 2016 rodeo drew 13 teams who competed in six different line events emphasizing safety and technical skills. Teams represented Massachusetts utilities from Braintree, Georgetown, Hudson, Littleton, Mansfield and Middleton, as well as Norwich, Conn., Otsego, N.Y., and New Hampshire Electric Cooperative,

Modeled after the International Lineworkers Rodeo, the competition is designed to display the craft of line work. During competition, three-person teams receive deductions in scores for violations such as misuse of tools, unsafe work, or slipping while climbing the pole. Final scores are determined after any deductions, and event times are used only as a tiebreaker.
